MSG Wesley Gipson

Senior Military Science Instructor

Master Sergeant (MSG) Wesley Gipson serves as the Senior Military Science Instructor at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. In this role, MSG Gipson is responsible for the training and development of the cadets within the Ram Battalion. He is the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Professor of Military Science and assists in the training, teaching, and mentoring of 130 cadets enrolled at CSU and the University of Northern Colorado.

 

MSG Gipson is from Dahlonega, GA. He enlisted into the Army in April, 2004, as an Infantryman. Upon completion of one station unit training, he was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division where he served as gunner, squad leader, and section leader. He deployed three times in during that time to Iraq, once in 2005, once in 2007, and once in 2009. After his time in the 3rd Infantry Division he served as a Platoon Sergeant and First Sergeant with the 1st Infantry Division, where he again deployed, this time to Afghanistan. His other assignments include the CSU Army ROTC as an instructor, the 25th Infantry Division as a First Sergeant, and BYU as the Senior Military Science Instructor.

He has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal, The Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with one silver oak leaf cluster, and the Army Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster​
