Mr. Peter C. Bleich, Jr.

Enrollment and Scholarship Officer

Mr. Bleich is from Syracuse, New York and is a retired Colonel from the US Army after 30 years of service in the active Army and Army Reserve. He was commissioned in the Corps of Engineers following his graduation from Clarkson College of Technology in Dec 1977 with a BS in Mechanical & Industrial Engineering. He is married to the former Ms. Linda Puccini, has two children and four stepchildren: Stephanie, Emily, Angelique, Tanya, Gianna, and Matthew and 5 grandchildren.

Mr. Bleich has been in his role as the Enrollment and Scholarship Officer since Aug 2003 with primary responsibility for the enrollment of new Cadets and the administration of the local scholarship application and selection process. Additional tasks include development and execution of the Recruiting & Enrollment Action Plan, development and management of the Marketing and Advertising plan/strategy and budget, management for the utilization of scholarship allocations, responsible for making enrollment mission for each mission set, trains new Cadre on contracting and scholarship requirements, and engages with Community Leaders & Educators and Centers of Influence to enhance the visibility and support both on and off campus for Army ROTC.

As a Commissioned Officer he attended the Engineer Officer Basic Course at Fort Belvoir, VA and was assigned to the Ammunition Equipment Office at Tooele Army Depot, UT as a Design Engineer. While stationed there he also served as a Design Engineer in the Facilities Directorate with responsibilities for heating systems for Ammunition Storage and Equipment Maintenance Facilities.

After transferring to the Army Reserve he served in the 98th Division (Training) as the Division Engineering Plans Officer; HHC Executive Officer; Assistant G-4 Food Service Officer; D Co., 464th Engineer Battalion Company Commander; Assistant G-1 Personnel; and the Assistant G-3 Operations. He then transferred to the 104th Division (Institutional Training) and served as a Command & General Staff College (CGSC) Instructor, Lead Instructor for the transition to the Intermediate Level Education (ILE) system and concluded as the Deputy Commander/Executive Officer for the 1st Professional Development Brigade. 

Mr. Bleich’s military education includes the Engineer Officer’s Basic and Advanced Courses, Facilities Engineer Course, Company Commander’s Prep Course, Combined Staff & Services Staff School, Command & General Staff Officer’s Course, and the Faculty Development Instructor Course-CGSC.

Mr. Bleich’s military awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Army Meritorious Service Medal w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster (OLC), Army Commendation Medal w/3 OLCs, Army Achievement Medal w/3 OLCs and Parachutist’s Badge.
