CPT Mark Chaka

Assistant Professor

Captain Chaka is currently serving as the MSIIII professor at Colorado State University. As an MSIII instructor CPT Chaka applies his tactical knowledge and understanding of Army leadership to develop his students into the leaders of tomorrow. ​

Captain Chaka served as a Stryker Platoon Leader (PL) and Executive Officer (XO) in the 2nd Infantry Division, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. Following his assignment as a PL and XO, he was selected to serve in the 75th Ranger Regiment Headquarters at Fort Benning, GA as an Assistant Operations Officer, and deployed to Afghanistan. CPT Chaka later served as a Training Officer in the 173rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Airborne (IBCT(A)) Headquarters, Vicenza, Italy, then as an Airborne Company Commander in 1-503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR).

CPT Chaka has attended the Infantry Officer Basic Leader Course, Stryker Leader Course, Airborne School, Ranger School, Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, and Jumpmaster Course.

CPT Chaka is originally from Toledo, OH. He is married to his wife, Leah, and has an infant son named Van. CPT Chaka enjoys traveling, running, reading, and spending time with his family. He received a Bachelor of Science in International Relations and commissioned from the United States Military Academy (USMA), West Point, NY.
