SFC Samuel J. Lewis
Sergeant First Class (SFC) Samuel Lewis is from Elm Creek, NE. He enlisted in the Army in February of 2006, as a 15U CH-47 Helicopter Mechanic. Other qualifications include Non-Rated Crewmember Standards Instructor, UH-60 Rescue Hoist Operator, and High-Altitude Aviation Training Site (HAATS) Ground School Instructor. SFC Lewis was deployed with the Colorado Army National Guard to Kandahar Afghanistan for 12 months from 2011-2012 earning the Air Medal and conducting over 500 hours of accident-free combat flight missions. He has been on multiple state-side activations with the Colorado and Nebraska Army National Guard including fire fighting missions in California and multiple Search and Rescue (SAR) Hoist mission in Colorado. He has been a military instructor for almost 10 years ranging from Aviation, Recruit Sustainment Program (RSP) training, and Military Leadership Science Course (MLSC) 101 and 102. SFC Lewis has been in the Colorado Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion since August of 2020 and now conducts recruiting efforts here at Colorado State University Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (CSU ROTC) as the On Campus Recruiter (OCR) and Assistant Military Science 1 instructor. SFC Lewis lives in Fort Collins with his spouse Jennifer, 3 children, Zoe, Leela, and Clementine, and Poodle/St. Bernard, Noodle.
