Lieutenant Colonel Brandon M. Weiss

Professor of Military Science

Lieutenant Colonel Brandon M. Weiss is a native of the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Northern Illinois University (NIU) in 2007 and was assessed into the Ordnance Corps through NIU Reserve Officer Training Corps. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from NIU and a master’s degree in procurement and acquisitions from Webster University.

LTC Weiss’ first active-duty assignment was Ft Hood, Texas, where he served as a maintenance, and gun truck platoon leader, maintenance control officer, and company XO in the 589th Brigade Support Battalion, 41st Field Artillery Brigade. LTC Weiss deployed to Iraq during his time with 589th for 14 months during the Surge. Next LTC Weiss completed the Captain’s Career Course at Ft Lee, Virginia and was then assigned to the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Ft Riley, Kansas where he served as a Battalion S4 with the 701st Brigade Support Battalion and Golf Forward Support Company Commander with the 2nd Battalion, 32nd Field Artillery Regiment. LTC Weiss deployed to Afghanistan as a company commander with 2-32 FA for 9 months. Following his assignment at Ft Riley, LTC Weiss was assigned to Ft Lee, Virginia to the Captain’s Career Course as a Small Group Leader where he educated Junior Captains on tactical level logistics. LTC Weiss then moved to Ft Leavenworth, Kansas, completed the resident Intermediate Level Education Course, and graduated as the Distinguished Master Logistician for Academic Year 2018. Following graduation LTC Weiss was assigned to the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Ft Carson, Colorado. LTC Weiss served as a Battalion XO and Support Operations Officer with the 4th Brigade Support Battalion. Following his time at Ft Carson, LTC Weiss returned to Ft Lee, Virginia where he was selected to be the Course Director for the Logistics Captains Career Course for 24 months. LTC Weiss also completed a deployment to Kuwait and Iraq with Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve and served as a training developer with the Support Operations Course. LTC Weiss recently just finished serving as a Materiel Integrator within Army Sustainment Command, Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois.

LTC Weiss awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (1OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3OLC), Army Commendation Medal (2OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1OLC), and the Basic and Senior Instructor Badge.

LTC Weiss service schools include the Ordnance Officer’s Basic Course, the Combined Logistics Captain’s Career Course, and the Intermediate Level Education Course.
