Assistant Professor of Military Science
Captain Kyle G. Burns is a native of Cheverly, Maryland. He graduated from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa in 2018 and was assessed into the Ordnance Corps through Reserve Officer Training Corps. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Geology from UH Manoa.
CPT Burns’ first active-duty assignment was Camp Casey, Korea, where he served as a maintenance platoon leader and maintenance control officer with 6-37 FA BN, 210 Fires Brigade. Next CPT Burns served as a Company Executive Officer for the 832nd OD BN, 59th Ordnance Brigade Fort Lee, Virginia. CPT Burns then completed the Captain’s Career Course in Fort Lee, Virginia and was then assigned to 8th Special Troops BN, 8th Theater Sustainment Command at Fort Shafter Hawai’i. CPT Burns served as the Battalion S4 and as a Company Commander with the Transportation Company Pacific at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.
CPT Burns awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), and Army Achievement Medal.
CPT Burns service schools include the Ordnance Officer’s Basic Course and the Logistics Captain’s Career Course.
