Captain Frey is currently serving as the MSII professor at Colorado State University. As an MSII instructor CPT Frey applies his tactical knowledge and understanding of Army leadership to develop his students into the leaders of tomorrow.
Captain Frey served as a Pathfinder Platoon Leader (PL) and Rifle Platoon Leader in the 82nd Airborne. Following his assignment as a PL he served as a Rifle Troop and Headquarters Troop Commander in the 2nd Cavalry Regiment. Prior to entering his role as the MSII instructor, CPT Frey served in Vilseck Germany with the 2nd Cavalry Regiment.
CPT Frey has sought to continue his education beyond what is required by Army standards. He has attended Infantry Officer Basic Leader Course, Airborne School, Ranger School, Air Assault School, Pathfinder School, The Equal Opportunity Leader Course, Unit Movement Officer course, Fast Rope Insertion and Extraction Master Course, Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, Stryker Leader Course, Maneuver Leader Maintenance Course, and Cavalry Leader Course.
CPT Frey is originally from Fort Worth, Texas. He is married to his wife, Kathryn, and has a daughter named Woodleigh, with another child due in December. CPT Frey enjoys traveling, hunting, gardening, and cooking. He received a Bachelor of Science in Strategic Communication with Business Minor from Texas Christian University, where he also earned his commission through the TCU Army ROTC program. CPT Frey has a desire to continue to develop his educational basis and is currently a MBA Candidate at Colorado State University College of Business.
