Room and Board Incentive

All ROTC 4-year scholarships pay full tuition and mandatory fees, a book allowance, and a monthly stipend. At Colorado State University, however, the university pays a portion of incoming scholarship cadets' room and board expenses. This is not the case for a majority of ROTC programs across the nation.

At CSU, all first year students must live in the dorms (with a few exceptions), so the ROTC Room and Board Stipend is a great help! The amount of Room and Board Stipend a cadet will receive is based on the number of 4-year scholarship cadets in an incoming class as the funds available are distributed evenly to all cadets. This fall, assuming the same number of 4-year scholarship recipients report to CSU Army ROTC as last year, each cadet could receive up to $2,000 in Room and Board Stipend.

Cadets must maintain minimum standards of academic and physical fitness performance in order to maintain the Room and Board Stipend over the course of the year. For further questions regarding Room and Board Stipend, please contact COL (Ret.) Peter Bleich at (970) 491-1640 (
